Bud Wilkinson of RC XPLANES has this to write about his new laser cutter. Bud's web site is www.rcxplanes.com

Robert,

I am attaching a scan of the signed Laser Warranty page in advance of the original that I am mailing to you. I got so wrapped up in cutting stuff out I forgot to fill this page till today. I am also including some pictures of one of the planes I am using your laser cutter kit to produce kits of.

First I have to say that your full laser kit, ETI-XYK, arrived right on schedule and in perfect condition due to your excellent crating job. All of the parts and hardware were easy to locate and matched the instructions perfectly. Undoubtedly the hardest part of the kit build was removing the necessary protective film from the beautiful stainless table. The mechanics went together very easily. Every part bolted on exactly as and where it was meant to go. I received the kit on Friday morning and it cut its first part on Saturday night. That included me relocating the water and air valves for access in my installation and making leveling feet for the bench rather than just shimming them up. These two operations took me an additional 6-7 hours total in shopping and manufacture or it would have been operational before lunch on Saturday.

Both the DesKam and Desknc programs are very easy to operate and understand in a very short time. This is my first CNC machine aside from a vinyl plotter for sticker vinyl. This laser cutter is far easier to use and more accurate than the vinyl machine will ever be. I feel like a pro CNC guy after just one day. Using the CAM side of CAD/CAM has made me a better CAD operator as well. Your support and project updates while you were producing the machine were great. They always came when I needed to see some light at the end of the tunnel. Every time I asked you a question, I got a timely, honest answer.

After a small amount of dialing in federates and power settings for my material and files, I am cutting out parts at an alarming rate. Each part exactly the same as the one before it. My ability to produce the necessary parts for the RC-Xplanes line of products has easily increased ten fold with an unmatchable increase in overall quality and accuracy. It will also make my R&D program ten times faster and more efficient as well.

I had researched all types of CNC laser and router options before I found your site through an Internet search. That was just before I signed up for a CNC router. That machine was $4000.00 more than your laser kit without the vacuum table option. You can easily spend $40,000 to $50,000 for a 50-watt laser with a 24” x 48” usable cutting area. Those machines are completely overbuilt and way overpriced for my application. Boy am I glad I decided to give one more look on the Internet before buying anything. This machine fits my needs and budget perfectly and was well worth the short wait for you to make the kit. This has to be the best bang for the CNC buck available anywhere. It seems that in this day and age, rarely does a products promise of performance stand up to what it can actually do. This laser kit has exceeded my every expectation from the moment I uncrated it. I am absolutely thrilled with this kit and the end machines performance. When I need another one, I am calling you. You have earned my business and respect.

Thanks,

Sincerely,

Bud Wilkinson, bud@rcxplanes.com

Tim Lee of Hobbs, New Mexico manufactures these beautiful displays out of Acrylic.

Tim Writes:

Here is a picture of one of my "hover ball" creations. It has a small blower fan and hovers a 1 inch Styrofoam ball above the base. The base also has LEDs to light up the ball. I may have sent this picture to you a while ago. All of it was cut with the laser (except for the blow tube). Even the dome was turned upside down and position precisely with the red dot beam combiner to cut a hole for the insertion of the blow tube.

"This laser cutter has been the perfect tool to take my prototype and invention ideas to a new level of realization. I also enjoyed assembling the kit and had all my questions answered promptly. I highly recommend this laser cutter."

Thanks, Tim

Don Winter of Maitland, Florida manufactures these incredible model railroad kits. All of the plastic and wood parts are Laser Cut.

Don Writes:

I am 110% percent satisfied with the machine. Accuracy is in the eye of the beholder and one's ability to use the machine thus the machine itself is perfect. Realize it is a kit, and your willingness to carefully assemble it is important. I found it a fun experience and assembled the machine at a slow deliberate pace over a period of maybe 2 weeks but this included running electric circuits, dressing up the room and building my own cover and things like that.

Key is the fact Robert gives great support and who knows if Pinnacle or
Universal will be there when you are frustrated and need them.

Hope this helps! I like copy Robert on my "testimonials" so he knows what I
said! LOL

Levi Jordan of 3-D Foamy manufactures these wonderful flying R/C aircraft kits. All parts are Laser Cut.

Levi Writes:

I got the laser the next day and all arrived in good condition… I got the machine all set up the same day and plumbed the water and air hose the next day. The optics were a breeze to align and the machine spent today cutting kits!
